Teo Chew Lor @ 1 Utama Shopping Mall

This weekend we were wondering what to eat at 1 Utama Shopping Mall, we decided go to Food Street since we never tried before. Among all the food stall, such as Korean food, porridge, Penang Cendol etc.. I choose Teo Chew Lor which selling is braised dishes.

As for their menu, there's set meal and ala carte. I were so excited when I saw Yam Rice on the menu! Yam Rice is seldom can be found nowadays, especially in shopping mall.


We ordered 3 set meal, YES, 3 sets... as we were starving and I am braised dishes fans... =D We ordered Braised Trotter Set, Mixed Platter Set and Organ Soup set. You can choose Steamed Rice or pay additional RM1 for Yam Rice for your set.

Yam Rice (RM2.80). Mmmhmmm! It's so aromatic and so yam! The fried shallot on the top was a plus point! And what make me happy was I found some yam cubes when eating the rice!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Braised Trotter w Yam Rice (RM 12.50). It's soft and the fats melted in my mouth. Personally, I think the trotter didn't braised enough time, lack of flavour.

Mixed Platter w Yam Rice (RM10). A plate mixed with braised pork belly, intestine, intestines, pig ear/cheek, pig skin, braised tau pok and egg. Everything was okay, it's not too flavourful as other braised dishes I ate before, it taste slightly sweet. Perhaps they should braised a bit longer.

Organ Soup w Steamed Rice (RM9). A traditional Teochew dishes. Inside the clear soup have pork meat slices, intestine, stomach, blood cubes, tofu, strips of preserved vege and a sprinkles of Chinese lettuce onion leaves. The pork organ was well processed and fresh. Taste very Teochew style as their soup was more to clear taste instead of peppery flavour.

Salted vege (RM4). Kenny claimed that their salted vege was not nice. It's a little bit sour instead of salty.











This meal costs us RM37.30 (including GST). I think this is reasonable price, as we ordered 3 sets and a side dishes. The food has room for improvement, perhaps their braised items should have longer braising time. You may come here and give a try if you are craving for braised dishes when you are shopping in 1 Utama Shopping Mall.
