Menya Musashi @ Isetan 1 Utama

What's better than having your favourite food on weekend? Me n Kenny were having the one of the BEST ramen at Menya Musashi at 1 Utama last Saturday. Menya Musashi credited as the pioneer of a ramen culture in Japan. As the result of it's innovation, Menya Musashi offers a selection of soup bases to satisfy customers' ever evolving tastes - white, red and black versions.

When we stepped into the restaurant, the staffs greeted us and brought us to the counter seats. Eventually, staff in the kitchen will shout some Japanese words when they were cooking. Lively environment.

Menya Musashi was currently offering Weekday Lunch Set and Weekend Special Set promotion. Since we didn't tried their Ajitama Ramen before, we decided to order their Weekend Special Set.

Chilli pepper, chilli oil and fried garlic, add on based on your own preference.

The set was coming with a bowl of salad, 2 Ajitama Ramen, choice of 1 side dish and 2 green tea. Ajitama Ramen is Miso based soup type ramen, I choose Kuro while Kenny choose Curry flavour oil for ramen. We ordered Gyoza as our side dish.

Salad

Kuro flavour Ajitama Ramen. Topping with Menma( lactate-fermented bamboo shoots) and spring onions. Kuro was special mix of fried shallots and garlic flavour oil. Ajitama Ramen soup was miso based which taste not as thick as Masashi Ramen which I tried on my last visit, it's taste slightly salty. The ramen was springy and well cooked. The big slice of chashu was tender and it's fats melted in my mouth, superb! The Ajitsuke Tamago was so yum! The seasoned soft boiled egg taste a bit sweet, fragrant soy sauce and tender! The egg yolk was goldenly in liquid flowed out when I bite it!

Curry flavour oil Ajitama Ramen. Kenny claimed that it's not spicy at all. taste wise. His seasoned soft boiled egg yolk was cooked, perhaps should put a remarks when order our noodles next time.

Gyoza. Taste okay. Perfectly fried dumpling filled with minced meat and leek wrapped with thin dough.

Teriyaki Chicken Rice (RM 10). Kenny thumbed up for this. A bowl of Japanese rice fully covered with chicken dices and some spring onions on top. Chicken dices was tender and wrapped with sweet teriyaki sauce. Personally I taste that it's more alike braised pork, nice!

Their weekend set is slightly valuable than ala carte order. Reminds that their green tea is non refillable anymore. By my next visit, I would like to order my favourite Munashi Ramen as the pork bone soup was much more thicker. Our tummies were so full and headed to TGV for Pitch Perfect 2!

Tamarind Springs @ Ampang

520 is a romantic day, homophones as I Love You in Chinese reading . Coincidently, 520 is my bff birthday! We celebrated the birthday boy's 'big day' at Tamarind Springs, Ampang. Tamarind Springs has 2 restaurants inside, up stair was Fine Indochinese cuisine while down stair was Fine Thai Cuisine.

When we reached there, we were like.. Are we in Bali? You will feel like you are not in the city, a perfect getaway from the hustle city I must say. A natural getaway into a visual and sensory feast, lush sensuous appeal, Buddhism decoration which bring peace, tranquility and restore soul into your exhausted self.

 Reception

We were here to try their Indochinese Cuisine today. When we reached the reception, there were staff standing front of reception greeted us and leaded us to our side view table. The captain was introduced us a few best selling dishes, we decided to order Apple Vinegar w Deep Fried Grouper Fish, Stir Fried Chicken w Lemongrass Leaf and Cashew Nut, Seafood Coconut Soup

 Buddhism Deco

Black rice (RM 10). It's soft and grain. Scientist researched that black rice rivals blueberries as source of healthful antioxidant and Vit E. ;D

Apple Vinegar w Deep Fried Grouper Fish (RM 99.00). It's vinegar sauce and salad was awesome, fish fillet was well fried. But to be frank, the fish itself was not really fresh and this spoilt the whole dish.

Chicken & coconut soup (RM36). This soup taste very mild as we can't taste the sour and spicy flavour which should contain in this soup. There's a lot herbs and lemongrass inside but we barely can taste the flavour of herbs, maybe this soup boiled not enough of time. Worth mentioning that there's some coconut flesh inside the soup.

Stir Fried Chicken with lemongrass and cashew nut (RM42). Chicken was tender but taste ordinary. This dish taste more alike sesame oil stir fried chicken.

Overall, all of the above dishes taste ordinary and less flavourful, we didn't 'WAO' at all.... But plus point was there's no MSG added and healthy option for dining. Beside, thumb up for their hygiene as for the dinnerware sets, food and environment.

After fulfilled our stomach, we went down stair for some walk and photos.

Will come back for another visit for this natural getaway restaurant, but fish will be a NONO. Do pay here a visit if you are looking for a place to retreat and peace while dining, worth every penny you pay. =)

Dreamz Bakery @ The Strand Kota Damansara

Dreamz Bakery

The first time I were here was 5 years ago. I felt in love with their mille crepes when my first bite, it's smooth, moist, dense and decadent.. it's so irresistible! To be frank, it's much more better than Nadaje Café.  ;)

Dreamz café was located at 3rd floor, you are there when you see the handmade cute signboard. Remember to remove your shoes before get in!

When you get inside, it's deco was heart warming and so comfy, although it's smaller in size compare to other café. Despite cakes and food, they were selling some homemade cookies and some oldies stuff too that reminded me my childhood memories!

Lime sour plum juice (RM 7.90)

Mango Mille Crepe (RM 9.90)

Sakura Mille Crepe (RM 9.90)

Tiramisu & Lemon Mille Crepe ( RM 9.90 each )

We ordered 4 flavour to share:

Sakura. It's savory in flavour. Mild Sakura taste.

Tiramisu. Aromatic, best match coffee, cream cheese and cream.

Lemon. Well balance sour flavour. I taste there's cream cheese inside.. I love this!

Mango. Taste odd. We barely can taste any pure mango flavour.

We love the Lemon and Tiramisu flavour. If you prefer savoury, Sakura flavour was a good choice. The lime and sour plum juice is highly recommended, it's refreshing and so nice! My must order when I pay my visit here.

Dreamz Bakery is 1 of the best bakery I had visited so far, at least it's Mille Crepe is No.1 among other bakeries in my list! Will give a try on their main dishes on my next visit! Stay tuned!

Cafe Studio @ The Strand Kota Damansara

Last week, me and my friend were craved for Mille Crepe, thus we went to Dreamz Café to have my favourite crepe! My friend told that Café Studio which located at the same row with Dreamz Café which it's ambiance was cosy...

Let's go for café hopping!

Café Studio

The ambiance

The decoration was heart warming, classic and artistic. The music they were playing was soft and comfy. Thumb up for it's ambiance. Suitable for high tea and chit chat.

We had our lunch before heading here. Thus we ordered their Signature Tit Bits and drinks for high tea.

Signature Tit Bits ( RM 9.90 )
Signature Tit Bits. Coming with fried sausages, wedges, fries and coleslaw. The fries was as hard as rock, sausage was over fried, coleslaw taste odd and wedges is the only one eatable. =( Hence, we didn't order other main dishes for try..
This café has cosy ambiance but their food has big room for improvement.
