Malacca Trip on Labour Day PT 3 - Jonker Street Night Market & Capitol Satay Celup

Night time, we have some walk on Jonker Street. The night market was so congested. Overall, this night market selling almost the same thing as KL night market, except there's few stall selling coconut shake.

Coconut shake (RM 4)

The coconut shake was okay. The coconut water was sweet and blended well with milk and vanilla ice cream flavour, and extra one scope of Vanilla ice cream on the top~! When we walked to the front, there's another stall selling Coconut Shake at RM3.50 =.=

We planned to have dinner at Geographer Café but it's fully seated.. Sad.. Therefore, we headed to Capitol Satay Celup to have dinner.

11pm - Capitol Satay Celup

Satay Celup is a dish where an assortment of raw and semi-cooked seafood, meat & vegetables on skewers are dunked into a hot boiling pot of satay gravy. This is a fusion style of steamboat / lok-lok which the soup base is satay sauce.

We reach around 11pm, the queue was still so long at this hour.. We joined the queue and queued up or an hour. We were shared table with another couple since the seats was limited.

Still super long queue at this hour

Tray was provided, customers have to choose and pick up their favourite skewers from a wide selection of food displaying in the fridge.

 RM 1.10 per stick

When we were seated, the worker placed a pot of hot satay sauce to our table and the boss himself mix the satay sauce base with peanut & brown sugar.

After the sauce was ready mixed and boiled, we dunk our skewers into the hot sauce and waited for it to cooked. The sauce taste was OMMPPHH, it's rich, hot, flavourful with spice and peanut, but still it's taste not as good as my last visit anymore. On my personal opinion, the food was not fresh at all.

There's some rumors about the satay sauce being recycled. Well...

This meal costs us around RM45. We paid this visit because my bf, Kenny was never been here before and I brought him here for a try. Will we pay another visit? No.
