10th July! Officially plus one on my age!
Kenny celebrated my birthday at The Ship, Bukit Bintang, before we heading to Malacca on the next day for 2D1N trip!
The Ship Restaurant, claims that they serve the best steak in town. The decoration of the restaurant was unique, which it's exterior resemble an almost life size hull of a ship, while it's interior was impressed with the timely recreated likeness of a sea going vessel.
The theme of service is provided by captain and crews in maritime uniform. We were given the menu after we choose our seat. Kenny ordered Sri Lankan Crabmeat & Sweetcorn Soup and Garlic Toast as starter.
Chocolate Milk Shake. Barely can taste the chocolate flavor.
Sri Lankan Crabmeat and Sweetcorn (RM13.85). This creamy soup was filling up with shelless crabmeat and sweet corn.
The soup was awesome, creamy, sweet yet refreshing. Every spoonful of crabmeat slices and sweetcorn in the soup brought satisfaction.
Garlic Toast (RM4.00). A slice of bread with generous spread of butter and finely minced fresh garlic. Crunchy, garlicly aromatic and slightly salty. Kenny thumbed up for this.
Sizzling Chicken Fillet (RM32.50). Tender Chicken perfectly grilled and topped with gravy, served on a sizzling hot plate with french fries and a bowl of salad.
Chicken fillet was perfectly cooked to tender while black pepper gravy was thick and slightly salty. The fries was a disappointment, I thought they will homemade their fries but... it taste alike frozen fries I bought from supermarket.
Furthermore, the menu written it's coming with a bowl of salad. But where's the salad despite of a tomato?
To be frank, i can easily get a better and up to standard sizzling chicken fillet at other restaurant if compare to here.
Chicken Maryland (RM31.35). Deep fried chicken fillet in Southern style, garnished with sausage, fried banana and corn on cob, served with fries and vege.
The deep fried chicken fillet was well fried and crispy, the coated flour was perfectly thin, the chicken fillet remained tender. While fried banana was awesome too, soft sweet deep fried banana coated with thin crispy flour.
What disappointing me was the sausage and vege. A big disappointment which this sausage taste exactly like those Ayamas frankfurter I bought from the supermarket. They should change the menu written to frankfurter or hot dog rather than sausage. Comes to vege, it's tasteless and carrot was hard, didn't manage to finish the vege.
After the main dishes, here comes my lovely piggy birthday cake with tails from Kenny. *Heart* *Touching*
It's super duper cute right? The cake inside is Red Velvet, taste awesome.
Picture of US
Can't resisted to selfie with this super duper cute piggy birthday cake!
Hope all my wishes come true!! =D
Overall, the main dishes we ordered was disappointing, we can get a better and up to standard western food and service on other normal average restaurant.
The absence of warm bun with butter before they serve the main dishes was a minus point. To be frank, I can get a better Maryland Chicken on Sakura Restaurant, Jalan Imbi with reasonable price ( Around RM 23.00, with a roasted potato at side!).
The service was just okay, nothing extraordinary. The restaurant business hour was written DAILY 12NOON till 3AM. Maybe we paid our visit on Thursday and we were the last table (around 11.40pm), the staffs was looking at us like we were stopping them from closing... =.=
Perhaps other outlet serving better food and service but we won't bother to give another try.
