Johor Trip PT1 - Johor Premium Outlet, Absolute Thai & Singapore Geylang Lor 9 Fresh Frog Porridge

Woohoo... Time to relax a bit. Went to Johor and Singapore for 3D2N short trip during Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday... =D

Day 1

We departed at 6am morning and drove long journey, around 4hrs, from KL to Johor Premium Outlets, located at Kulaijaya, Johor. We reached around 9.50am, surprisingly quite many cars parked at car park already. Get ourselves a VIP Shopper club membership at Customer Service Center, but the vouchers given was not attractive/really useful.

There's 130 premium outlet stores which selling their products at lower price or at discounted price compared to boutique, but most of the stores are selling old stocks but not current new products.

The result of half day shopping at JPO. Nike clothes and shoes, Estee Lauder Modern Muse and Clinique skin care. The cosmetic selling here was quite cheap, around 40% cheaper price, but selected brand with selected products.

My friends were craving for Thai Cuisine, thus, we settled our lunch at Absolute Thai, located right beside Nike Stores. 

The atmosphere was nice and staffs were attentive too. Not crowded during lunch hour, perhaps the price here was above average. 

Menu

Quite wide variety of choices on the menu, all seems so tempting and gastronomic! We ordered Seafood Tomyum, Green Curry Chicken and Stir Fried Minced Chicken. The waiting time was quite reasonable, around 20 to 30mins... Here comes our dishes arrived on our table!!! Starving!!

Red Seafood Tom Yam Soup (2 pax) (RM 29.50). It's served in firepot and smells great! Taste authentic Thai Tom Yam, sour and mild in the first place but spicy on throat, stomach was burning! The seafood got fresh Medium size prawns, squids and fish fillets. The soup taste strong aroma of herbs and lemongrass, hot and spicy, nice.

Green Curry Chicken (RM 17.90). Tender chicken slices in the mild, flavorful with spices and smooth green curry. I love this dish so much!

Stir Fried Minced Chicken (RM 17.90). Tender minced chicken stir fried with basil leaves, chilies and sauce. Flavorful and slightly spicy. 

Overall, the above dishes was delicious and satisfying, price were slightly pricey. Quality food come with a price. =)










Night time, we queued at Woodland, Johor - Singapore Causeway... Traffic was still okay.

We had Geylang Lor 9 Fresh Frog Porridge as dinner. It's quite crowded and long waiting time.  We ordered 3 frog cooked in 3 different style - Porridge, Stir fried w ginger onion & Gong Bo.

Frog Porridge. The portion was okay. Porridge texture was thick instead of watery,taste plain. Frog meat was tender. We mixed the Gong Bo & Ginger onion sauce with porridge to add some flavor. 

Giong Cong (Ginger Onion) Stir Fried Frog. Portion was small since it's only 1 frog. The sauce taste slightly sweet, alike soy sauce. Kinda nice.

Gong Bo Stir Fried Frog. This is their signature according to their staff. It's flavorful and spicy. Taste wise.

Fried Chicken in Lemon & Thai Style. Fried chicken was ordinary, crunchy outside and tender inside. Taste good but i would say it's just average.

After some walk walk see see, time to rest and ready for Day 2 explore!
