BBQ Town @ Mid Valley Megamall

Cravings for buffet or BBQ in Midvalley?

BBQ Town opened in Midvalley recently! BBQ Town delivering a fresh concept to traditional Thai BBQ and combination with Japanese Shabu Shabu.

Eat all you can Thai BBQ & Shabu Shabu, price at  Lunch 11am-5pm at RM 29.80++  while Dinner 5pm-10pm at RM 39.80. Children age 5-11 are 50% off buffet price.

Diners can refill top-quality Australian chilled beef and lamb and farmed chicken in thin slices. Another highlight that its vegetable bar featuring a wide variety of fresh vegetables, meatballs and tofu.

Besides, sauces are homemade with recipes from Japan and traditional Thai sauce, mix on your own! Sushi are available too!

Pick your own ice cream !

The paper show the proper step to eat BBQ and make the sauce!

Between the choices of Green Tea and Ice Lemon Tea, we choose refillable lemon tea! Taste like Teh Ice.. LOL

The hotpot provided with a beef fat cube, a bottle refillable chicken soup. We choose lamb and chicken, prawn compulsory.

Ala Carte Ebi Tempura (RM 9.90). The tempura flour coated was crispy but too thick, barely can eat the prawn. Both of us just tried one and resisted to eat another more.

BBQ mutton and meaty mushrooms Porcini. Porcini taste very sweet if BBQ compare to soup cooked.

The soup was very sweet and compressed as every essence of cooked ingredients flowed into the soup!

Prawn was medium size and very fresh. Thanks to Chef Kenny for BBQ the meat and removed the prawn shells. Happy to eat ready pipping hot shell-less prawn. =D

Handsome chef BBQ - ing

Overall, we were satisfied with the varieties and freshness of BBQ Town ingredients. But without the exhaust system, we smells like BBQ when walked out from restaurant. It's alike Sukiya style and we wondering whether BBQ Town was the same group.

Will come back for another visit? Definately yes.

The Brew Orchestra @ Taman Molek, Johor Bahru

Not to forget tea time although we were on a vacation!

The Brew Orchestra, claimed as the best café in Johor Bahru. Unique décor of this café was inspired by grand concert halls. It's awarded Malaysian Aeropress Championship in Year 2014. The Brew Orchestra has nice, warm and comfy ambiance for customer to get relax their mind and take a sip of coffee.

We choose our sofa comfy seat. The waiter handed us the menu after we waited for a while. Too busy perhaps. The menu is written/printed on the wood, simple yet special.

The Brew Orchestra offering quite a reasonable range of drinks and food. We ordered a Filter Brew, Rose Latte, Hazelnut Latte for a sip of coffee. Not to forget our source of happiness! Classic Waffle!

I did ask the staff about the meaning behind their café name as we can't see any deco that's obviously related to Orchestra. The answer we got was... MUSICAL NOTATION! The ceiling deco! We discussed about the deco while we were waiting for our coffee and food as the decoration was completely out of our expectation.

Filter Brew (RM 15). Seasonal single origin, barista told us that day was Eutopia Coffee Bean. Taste mild, fruity and aromatic. Bitter once I sipped and sour at the back.

Rose Latte (RM 13). Woohoo my favourite! The best rose latte I had so far. The rose flavour was just nice, not too strong or sweet. While the coffee content was more than other cafés for flavour coffee. I was amazed when I first sipped, taste quite different from what I had for Rose latte before. A strong aromatic of roasted coffee bean. Experienced yourself!

Hazelnut latte (RM 13). Hazelnut latte was a thumb up too. Strong aromatic of hazelnut and coffee bean. A must order if you are a hazelnut lover. =)

Classic Waffle (RM 16). Freshly baked waffles, ice cream, choice of chocolate banana or berries. We choose chocolate banana flavour! Waffle was akay, crispy but not fluffy. Topped with scrambled cookies, banana, chocolate, chocolate ice cream and icing sugar. Everything goes perfect when all the element eaten together. Not the best waffle I eaten so far, but consider okay.

We decided to rest at this comfy café until dinner time. Wifi was smooth. We had a great time as friends gathered, chatted, surfed net and laughed, relaxed. =)

A special spotlight was beside the basin.

Johor Trip PT 3 - Puteri Harbour Marina @ Nusajaya & Pontian Wantan Noodles

Around 10 mins driving distance from Legoland, Puteri Harbour a new world-class tourist destination and first 5 stars marina in Msia, nestled at the narrow most point along The Straits of Johor separating Singapore from the Asia continent lies Nusajaya.

Breathtaking view of The Straits of Johor and yachts, relaxing environment and a quay side retail lifestyle and family entertainment complex, totally worth visiting here.

Worth mentioning that there's HELLO KITTY TOWN here! A good news to HELLO KITTY lovers!

Red Bow Cafe @ Hello Kitty Town. Super cute and girlish cafe!

After said goodbye to beautiful Puteri Harbour, we heading to Taman Sutera Utama at Skudai for some food hunting.

We choose Pontian Wanton Noodles because recommended by a table sharing local uncle this morning while having our yummy breakfast at Kuay Teow Zai.

Dry Wanton Noodles (Small) (RM 5). Springy egg noodles with flavourful aromatic black sauce, very delicious. BBQ pork was traditional type. Wanton was okay, prefer fried one instead of soup.

Laksa ( Small) (RM 6). It's mild and smooth, not really spicy. Taste alike Penang laksa. My friend thumbed up for this.

Location:
Taman Sutera Utama, Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/4, 81300, Johor Bahru, Johor.

Hours:
Daily. 10am - 10pm

Stay tuned for my visit to The Orchestra Cafe and dinner at JB post!

Johor Trip PT 2 - Jalan Skudai Kuay Teow Zai & Legoland

Day 2

We kicked start our Day 2 at famous local Kuay Teow Zai, located at Jln Skudai,JB.

We reached here around 10am and guess what?? It's crowded with locals and we have to wait for empty table.

Mind that please order your food at the stall. We ordered mixed plate of braised stuffs and kuay teow soup since we wanted to try each type of the food. The staff owner told us we have to wait for an hour!

Look at all these type of braised stuffs! So tempting!

 Homey style cooking!

After we waited for almost an hour..... Here comes our food! Drooling... The owner was considerate enough as she served every type of the braised stuffs in small portion!

Kuay Teow Soup. The uneven shape of kuay teow was smooth and ricely fragrant. Nice!

Braised tofu, egg and homemade sausage. Well braised and taste traditionally. Thumb up.

Braised chicken feet and tofu skin roll. Chicken feet was well braised and soft.

Braised pork belly and pig skin. Braised pig skin was awesome! Chewy and taste alike hard jelly. Good for lady because of it's collagen. While the braised pork belly taste traditional and oldies type, once bite and the fats melted in mouth.

Braised pork intestines and stomach. My favorite! The intestine was well cleaned and braised. I can finish 2 plates by myself!

Preserved vege. Soft, slightly salty and sour.

This meal only cost us RM23 (included 3 barley drinks),  and reasonable pricing and delicious food! I will definitely come here again on my next visit.

Location:
Jalan Tasek, JB. (Opposite Maybank Jln Skudai, Danga Bay)

Opening hour:
7.30am till finished

Explored to Legoland and it's theme hotel after heavy breakfast!

We were WAO when entered into Legoland Hotel. So amazing! Giant size lego displays and carpet! The most basic and lowest fare per night costs around RM 1,200.00!

Stay tuned for my next Johor Trip posts!
