What's better than having your favourite food on weekend? Me n Kenny were having the one of the BEST ramen at Menya Musashi at 1 Utama last Saturday. Menya Musashi credited as the pioneer of a ramen culture in Japan. As the result of it's innovation, Menya Musashi offers a selection of soup bases to satisfy customers' ever evolving tastes - white, red and black versions.
When we stepped into the restaurant, the staffs greeted us and brought us to the counter seats. Eventually, staff in the kitchen will shout some Japanese words when they were cooking. Lively environment.
Menya Musashi was currently offering Weekday Lunch Set and Weekend Special Set promotion. Since we didn't tried their Ajitama Ramen before, we decided to order their Weekend Special Set.
Chilli pepper, chilli oil and fried garlic, add on based on your own preference.
The set was coming with a bowl of salad, 2 Ajitama Ramen, choice of 1 side dish and 2 green tea. Ajitama Ramen is Miso based soup type ramen, I choose Kuro while Kenny choose Curry flavour oil for ramen. We ordered Gyoza as our side dish.
Salad
Kuro flavour Ajitama Ramen. Topping with Menma( lactate-fermented bamboo shoots) and spring onions. Kuro was special mix of fried shallots and garlic flavour oil. Ajitama Ramen soup was miso based which taste not as thick as Masashi Ramen which I tried on my last visit, it's taste slightly salty. The ramen was springy and well cooked. The big slice of chashu was tender and it's fats melted in my mouth, superb! The Ajitsuke Tamago was so yum! The seasoned soft boiled egg taste a bit sweet, fragrant soy sauce and tender! The egg yolk was goldenly in liquid flowed out when I bite it!
Curry flavour oil Ajitama Ramen. Kenny claimed that it's not spicy at all. taste wise. His seasoned soft boiled egg yolk was cooked, perhaps should put a remarks when order our noodles next time.
Gyoza. Taste okay. Perfectly fried dumpling filled with minced meat and leek wrapped with thin dough.
Teriyaki Chicken Rice (RM 10). Kenny thumbed up for this. A bowl of Japanese rice fully covered with chicken dices and some spring onions on top. Chicken dices was tender and wrapped with sweet teriyaki sauce. Personally I taste that it's more alike braised pork, nice!
Their weekend set is slightly valuable than ala carte order. Reminds that their green tea is non refillable anymore. By my next visit, I would like to order my favourite Munashi Ramen as the pork bone soup was much more thicker. Our tummies were so full and headed to TGV for Pitch Perfect 2!
