Chatuchak Weekend Market - Food Hunting

The world largest weekend market - Chatuchak Weekend Market (also known as JJ Market) has reached it's landmark status as a MUST VISIT PLACE for tourists.

Due to its sheer size and diverse collection of merchandise and food, you spend whole day here just to shop and eat without realize time flies. Although not all at best bargain rate, but most of the clothes and hand made goods here were design by individual designer, you can get pretty nice and special clothes and goods here.

I would like to share my food hunted at Chatuchak Weekend Market on this post with you guys, hope you enjoy!

1.Fried Fish Ball

Fried Fish Ball Stall. The first food stall we saw from our exit. I forgot which exit we were because we jumped out from taxi after he drop us on roadside.

Fried fish ball which seems alike lekor which easily found in Malaysia night market. Smells good and we decide to order Medium portion (40 Baht) to try!

Pipping hot fried fish ball topped with sweet spicy sauce was absolutely delicious! Thumb up! Must go back for this on my next visit.

2.Freshly squeezed orange juice

Freshly squeezed orange juice in small bottle (30Baht) and jumbo size(60Baht)!

3.Grilled garlic bread

Fresh garlic bread stick! Available with 6 different toppings- garlic, sugar butter, chocolate, sweetened milk, strawberry jam and pizza sauce. (1 stick-20Baht, 3 stick-60Baht).  Pillowy soft, buttery and garlic fragrant! Thumb up!

4.Roast Pork

Minimum purchase is 200Baht. Juicy yet crispy crackling.

5.Grilled Honey Roast Pork (Moo Yang) (Section 22,Soi 4)

A hidden gem inside Chatuchak Weekend Market, selling their signature-freshly grilled honey pork chop and buns as well.

Freshly grilled pipping hot large pieces of honey pork chop! You can either buy pork chop only or pork chop with bun! Tell the owner the size/grams you want and they will cut for you! (Minimum  purchase 100gram)

I ordered a bun (10Baht) (mun tou) and put the pork slices into the bun and eat it together. Pillow soft bun with juicy, sweet and tender pork chop! Yummy! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

6.Come Waan (Sec3,No.119-120) (Sec10,No.264)

Cool ice cream shop in Chatuchak. They were selling shaved ice, mango sticky rice and 2 flavor of ice cream: coconut & mango, with varieties of topping you can choose from.

I choose menu 1!

Toppings to choose from! Red Ruby is a must!

Wohoo! The Mango ice cream is very good one with sweet and sour taste while Coconut ice cream is awesome too! Had a cool ice cream while rest our leg after long hour under intense heat was so refreshing and comforting!

7.Grass Jelly Ice

On the same street after Come Wann, we saw this stall was selling grass jelly drinks and grass jelly ice! We were curious because we never seen this before at Pratunam and Siam area during our trip.

Menu

Dalang!!! Grass jelly topped with crushed ice and brown sugar. Mixed well before eaten. In such hot weather, one bowl of grass jelly ice would cool down your body and keep you walk and shop further! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
