Ah Heng Food Coner @ Jalan Tiong Nam,Chow Kit

Ah Heng Food Corner which was a hidden gem at a quiet alley off Jalan Tiong Nam, serving traditional home cooked Chinese dishes. They were famous with their Signature White Pepper Pig Stomach Soup, Pork Trotters in Dark Vinegar Sauce, Mui Choy with 3 Layers Pork, Braised Pork Intestine & Claypot Chicken in Rice Wine.

Menu was displayed on board =)

You can place your order at the stall front or staff will take order after settling down into your seat.

The braising pot with all the braised goodies... Slurpssss... Can smell the attractive white pepper pig stomach soup when passing by!

Serving speed was kinda fast! Our food has arrived!

We ordered White pepper pig stomach soup, Claypot chicken with rice wine, Claypot chicken fried with sesame oil, Curry Chicken, Mui Choy with 3 layers pork, braised egg & Blanched vegetables.

White pepper pig stomach soup (2 ppl portion) (RM 18). This is the main reason why we were here! Hot and peppery soup with chewy thick strips of pork stomach and chicken feet.

Best savor while it's still warm. Not to forget the pepper soup is REFILLABLE! Prepare to sweat!

Claypot chicken fried with sesame oil (2 ppl portion) (RM24). Sesame oil (Ma Yau) was aromatic but it could be better if slightly more rich and flavorsome. Chicken was tender.

Claypot chicken with rice wine (2 ppl portion) (RM 24). It was so so so delicious!!! Rich and flavorsome rice wine with a punch of gingers, black fungus and tender chicken. Do not miss this order if you are rice wine chicken fans!

Curry chicken ( 2 ppl portion) (RM 14). Rich and flavorful curry chicken. Personally I like the big cutting size of potato. Nothing to complaint about this dish.

Mui Choy braised with 3 layers pork. (1 ppl portion) (RM 6). Rich and intense flavor with perfect combination of the fats of the pork. Taste of traditional.

Braised egg (RM1/egg). The egg absorbed the rich flavor of dark soy sauce! Yum!

This meal cost RM113.30 for 6 adults included rice and herbal tea which I think the price was fair enough considering the portion size and five meat dishes. I would say this is a MUST COME place for who 's interested in this type of traditional Chinese food.

V-Nam Cafe @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

Hi guys! Sorry for long waiting for the new food hunting update! Been busy with work recently! >.<

This weekend, Kenny and I were craving for Vietnamese food and we found out V-Nam Cafe, a new Vietnamese restaurant opened at Bandar Puteri Puchong, just a shop row behind Banh Mi Cafe.

We decided to give a try!

This shop is located beside 7-11, a shop row behind Banh Mi Cafe.

When we entered into this restaurant, attracted by their Vietnamese Tang Lung deco.

The signature of the shop. Vietnamese Drip Coffee.

Their staffs were attentive and served by menu once we choose our seat.

 Menu (Click to enlarge)

We were starved and decided to try out some of their signature dishes which recommended by their staff - Vietnamese Drip Coffee, Pork Salad Banh Mi Sandwich, Spring Roll, Fried Squid with stuffed Meat, Signature Fried Chicken with Fried Rice and Vietnamese Seafood Gumbo Noodles.

 Vietnamese Drip Coffee (Cold) (RM4.50)

A Vietnamese filter is a small metal french drip coffee pot. Coming with Condensed Milk. When the dripping stops, removed the pot and enjoy the coffee!

Their Drip Coffee was really WAOOO me. I am quite in love for their coffee and this definitely will be in my top 3 coffee list!!!

The coffee taste was very aromatic and pleasant. Personally I feel it taste even better and wonderful sweetness after condensed milk added. A must order!

While taking photos, our food arrived!

Vietnamese Spring Roll. (RM 7.50/3roll). Pleasant presentation and we cant wait to start our appetizer!

Rice roll wrapping fresh cooked shrimp, pork slices, rice vermicelli, fresh thai basil, mint leaves, lettuce & cilantro. Everything was so fresh and refreshing and best eaten with their homemade dipping sauce.

You can request to customize your own preference portion of the greens for your spring roll.

Pork Salad Banh Mi Sandwich (RM7.50).

Portion was quite big. The bread was crunchy outside and soft inside. I love their bread because it's crunchy and not hard at all as what we ate on other place.

Generous fresh and refreshing healthy ingredient - varieties of vege, pork & ham slices. Thumb up!

Note that they only providing 2 type of banh mi ( pork / egg) as they want to focus on providing quality food. Looking forward for more option in the future!

Fried squid with stuffed meat (RM8.50). Stuffed meat taste awesome and juicy. But the squid was kinda too thin after steamed and fried. Suitable for those who like the crunchy style squid.

Fried Chicken with Fried Rice (RM9.50). Chicken was delicious and tender while the chicken skin was incredibly crunchy and surprised us with pleasant sweetness.

Fried rice was fragrant and taste alike garlic fried rice. Thumb up. Not to forget to dip the chicken with thier homemade chili sauce coming along!

We do ask what make their fried chicken taste so good when finished our meal. We been told that the chicken was slowly cooked 2 hours in the herbs seasoned soup so the meat will be fragrant. They fried their chicken by slowly pouring the hot oil until turned golden and cooked. Good food come with passionate preparation.

Vietnamese Seafood Gumbo Noodles (RM8.50). Nice presentation of a bowl of hot broth with the delicate rice noodles, generous fresh seafood (Prawn and squid), pork slices and fragrant herbs. It taste authentic and taste better after lime juice added.

I would say their Vietnamese dishes taste authentic, fresh and cooking with passionate.

Their chef and staff were from Vietnam. We were quite satisfied with our meal. Staffs were attentive and helpful.

Although they don't have fancy decoration but this shop was surrounding with authentic Vietnamese ambiance and food.

Will back again to try out the remaining dishes! =)
