Just across The Palladium Mall and Platinum Mall, you can find the best Hainanese chicken rice in Bangkok which is most famous among local and tourist @ Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam. 🐔🍚 Also known as Pink shirt chicken rice. There's also a Green shirt chicken rice shop situated around 50metres away from them.
We went Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam twice during our trip on night time for dinner. Expects for short queue and table sharing.
Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam was established in 1960, a restaurant specializes in Hainanese chicken rice. A 56 years old culinary career attracts huge crowd every single day and night.
Menu
Although their staffs were barely understand English, but no worries when come to order, just pointing at the pictures on the menu!
Splash (12 THB) & Coke (10 THB). Add on a cup of crushed ice (2 THB).
Their homemade dipping sauce was different from Malaysia and Singapore chicken rice sauce. Mixture of small chili, garlic and sweet sauce.
Bitter Melon and pork ribs soup (40 THB). Big slices of stewed until soft bitter melon and few pieces of pork ribs.
I am totally falling in love with this soup and ordered this for both of my visits. This soup taste really good and very slightly bitter taste of the soup. Personally I prefer dipped the softly stewed bitter melon and pork ribs with their homemade dipping sauce, yummy!
Hainanese Chicken Rice (40 THB). Ordinary plate of chicken rice. Succulent moist slices of poached chicken. Rice was fragrant. This plate of chicken rice became extra ordinary when dipped with their homemade dipping sauce.
Hainanese Chicken (Regular 60 THB, Large 120 THB). Choose your preference chicken part from breast, wing or thigh. Coming with a chicken blood cube.
Kenny ordered regular size, the portion was quite generous and we felt that it's more worthy if compared to 40 THB normal plate of chicken rice. Fresh chicken blood cube was soft yet chewy.
Add on a plate of rice at 10 THB.
We side ordered a plate of Chicken Gizzard (Regular 60 THB, Large 120 THB). We felt here serve the best chicken gizzard we've eaten. Fresh and chewy! Best eaten with their dipping sauce.
I would say their chicken rice was ordinary but their dipping sauce was a highlights. Price charged considered as cheap if compared to Malaysia unreasonably inflation. Good experience to blend in with the locals. Definitely will come again when my next visit to BKK!
